Nakia Brazier

Nakia Brazier joins Umoja as Regional Coordinator for Region 3, bringing more than ten years of experience leading programs that serve students, youth, and historically underserved communities. She comes to UCEF from the Greater Sacramento Urban League, where she managed a youth mental health center, supervised a team of peer support and non-clinical staff, and built the quality assurance and documentation systems that kept the center in compliance across county, state, and federal requirements. Earlier in her career she directed programs and partnerships at Green Arrow Co-Lab, securing three grants totaling over $120,000, and spent five years at Youth Policy Institute in Los Angeles as a restorative justice coordinator and case manager, supporting students in the LA Promise Zone through high school graduation and into college. Nakiaholds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, both from Cal State University, Los Angeles. She is based in Sacramento.
